Melina trabajó con la organización internacional de derechos LGBTQ+ It Gets Better y la Dra. Lexx Brown James para ayudar a conceptualizar y planificar la serie de cinco episodios “Queer Sex Ed”. It Gets Better’s Queer Sex Ed Web Series
Melina worked with the international LGBTQ+ rights organization It Gets Better and Dr. Lexx Brown James to help conceptualize and plan the five-episode “Queer Sex Ed” series. This project responds to the fact that most public sex ed in the United States is focused on reproduction or pregnancy but leaves out information for queer youth.

Nos da mucha emoción compartir que a “Queer Sex Ed” le fue increíblemente bien en la temporada de premios. Ganamos dos Webbies (premios online de contenidos digitales): uno en la categoría Diversidad Equidad e Inclusión y otro en la categoría People’s Choice Diversidad Equidad e Inclusión. ¡También obtuvimos un premio de oro en los premios Ava Digital Awards y un premio de plata en la categoría de concienciación y medios de los premios Anathema! We are thrilled to share that “Queer Sex Ed” did incredibly well in the award season. We won two Webbies (online awards for digital content): one in the category of Diversity Equity and Inclusion and another in the category of People’s Choice Diversity Equity and Inclusion. We also were a Gold winner in the Ava Digital Awards and a Silver Win in the Awareness and Media category of the Anathema Awards! The series was also covered in the press including a feature by Teen Vogue.
